WhatsApp competitor Telegram has been updated with three new features: audio messages, background download for messages and if you decide to delete a ‘secret chat’, it will be removed from both devices!
One of Telegram’s unique features is Secret Chats. The developers promise that with Secret Chats nothing is kept on their servers at all. With the latest update, when you decide to delete a secret chat, it is actually deleted from the other person’s device too. Audio Messages are a ‘touch to record’ feature, where you can send a short audio message like you can with WhatsApp now.
Launched by Russian social network VK.com founders Nikolai and Pavel Durov, Telegram claims to be more secure and private than competitor apps like WhatsApp, and is also completely free. The duo say Telegram will always be free and they have no plans to monetize the app at all.
All the new features are available for both the Android and iOS of Telegram.
